Electrolysis is a specialist hair removal treatment that permanently treats individual hair follicles. It is ideal for unwanted facial hair, including chin, jawline, upper lip, cheeks, sideburns and neck.
It is particularly suitable for clients experiencing hormonal facial hair growth, including hair that has become thicker, darker or more noticeable due to hormonal changes, as well as naturally coarse or persistent facial hair.

How Does It Work?
A fine sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle and a controlled electrical current is applied to destroy the cells responsible for hair growth. The treated hair is then gently removed.
Because each follicle is treated individually, electrolysis is highly precise and suitable for even small, stubborn areas of facial hair.

Is Electrolysis Permanent?
Yes. Electrolysis permanently destroys the treated hair follicle, meaning that hair should not regrow from a successfully treated follicle. However, hormonal changes can stimulate new hair growth from previously inactive follicles, which may require further treatment.

Is It Safe?
When performed by a trained practitioner using appropriate hygiene and sterile equipment, electrolysis is considered a safe method of permanent hair removal. Some temporary redness, sensitivity or slight swelling can occur following treatment and usually settles shortly afterwards.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Electrolysis requires a course of treatments rather than one appointment. This is because hair grows in different cycles, meaning not every follicle can be treated at the same stage.
